Self Portrait Oekaki

.: A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Some kids have aspirations to become firemen, doctors, or astronauts. Personally, I dabbled with the thought of becoming a dolphin trainer or a paleontologist. Much to the dismay of my 8-year-old self, bachelors degrees in dolphin training happen to be slightly rare, and paleontology lost its luster when I realized it wasn’t solely the adventure of unearthing stegosauruses in desert sands while wearing a weathered fedora. Two interests in particular have stayed with me through the years however, art and video games.

I started drawing at a very young age and have spent many years honing my artistic abilities. While I started with pencils, charcoal, and color pencils, much of my art is now created digitally. I am knowledgeable in a variety of software applications including Photoshop, 3dsMax, ZBrush, Illustrator, Flash, AfterEffects, Premiere, Director, and Dreamweaver.

My other persistent interest was sparked when I was 4 years old. My dad came home one afternoon with a large black and silver box on his shoulder marked "Nintendo Entertainment System," he was promptly tackled by my brother and I. Many sleepless nights were spent on the pipe world of Super Mario 3, but eventually the princess was saved and I was hooked on video games.

Currently, I attend ITT Technical Institute in Seattle, WA. I am always striving to go above and beyond the curriculum to challenge my artistic and technical skills. I hope that you find that this is reflected in some of my work! I received my associate’s degree in multimedia in December of 2008 and graduated with highest honors. I now have two years left of study to complete my bachelors.

Aside from school, I am working as a manager of a movie theatre and interning as a 3D and concept artist with Martin Arts. I am also 2D artist at Red Panda Games. We recently finished our casual game Bipo: Red Panda Mysteries (available for download here). You can view the assets I created for the game in the work section of my gallery. We are currently developing a new casual game to be released later this year.

Thank you very much for stopping by! Feel free to view my work or contact me via the links above.

Sincerely,
Lindsay
